Description
Assault is GDW's platoon-level game of a hypothetical NATO versus Warsaw Pact war in Germany. Each hex is 250 meters, each turn a few minutes, and each counter a section or platoon, with Chobham armor, laser rangefinders and Copperhead rounds all represented.
Rated Advanced on GDW's complexity scale, it is built for two players and runs two to four hours per scenario. It launched a whole series of expansion modules covering the same late Cold War battlefield.
Why collectors want it
Assault is the core box of one of the best-loved Cold War tactical series of the 1980s. Copies with the original errata and response card show the game as it left GDW.
