Description

From the frozen north of the Old World march the Warriors of Chaos: an indomitable race of killers who fight for glory and for the favour of gods who care nothing for the cost. Led to war by Champions armed with daemon-forged steel and swollen with the raw power of Chaos itself, the worshippers of the Ruinous Powers pursue an eternal quest to drown the civilised lands in blood - and they do not tire, and they do not stop.

This 7th Edition army book is where a great deal of that identity was consolidated. Phil Kelly's treatment gives the northmen a coherent culture rather than a collection of monsters: the tribal structures, the tension between the four gods, the brutal logic of a society where advancement is measured in skulls and the ultimate reward is as likely to be spawndom as ascension. Archaon, Lord of the End Times, sits at the apex of it, and the book carries the weight of prophecy that would eventually pay off across the whole setting.

The miniatures showcase section is a document in its own right - a record of the Warriors of Chaos Citadel range as it stood in 2008, photographed and painted to the standard of the period, with colour and banner guidance for players building their own hordes.

Collectible Value

Warhammer Fantasy Battles army books occupy a particular position in the Games Workshop secondary market. The game itself was discontinued in 2015, which means the entire 7th Edition line is permanently closed - no revisions, no reprints, no digital successor within the same ruleset.
