Description
The Incubi are the temple-bred killers of Commorragh, warriors who have forsaken the endless intrigue of the Dark City's kabals in favour of a single, absolute discipline: the perfect execution of murder as an art form. Drawn from the Shrines of the Incubi and bound to their Hierarchs, they hire out their blades to archons wealthy enough to afford them, and they answer to no kabal's politics beyond the terms of the contract.
Clad in tapering segmented plate and faceless horned helms, an Incubus moves with the terrible economy of a creature that has spent centuries refining a single skill. Where the kabalite warriors of the Dark Eldar rely on speed and cruelty, the Incubi rely on certainty. This particular casting arms the warrior with a heavy assault weapon rather than the traditional klaive, a rarer battlefield loadout that reflects the varied wargear options available to Dark Eldar players during the 3rd Edition era.
Sculpted and released during the height of Games Workshop's metal miniature period, this blister represents the classic Dark Eldar aesthetic before the range's 2010 plastic overhaul - sharper, spindlier, and unmistakably alien. The heft and detail of white metal remain a defining characteristic of the era for collectors and painters alike.
Collectible Value
Games Workshop retired its white metal miniature lines entirely in favour of resin and plastic, making sealed metal blisters like this one a finite and steadily diminishing resource. The original Dark Eldar range was among the more distinctive sculpt families of the period, and the 2010 relaunch of the faction as Drukhari replaced these models wholesale rather than reissuing them.
Original packaging with intact backing card, batch code, and component number carries meaningful weight in the secondary market - unopened blisters command a clear premium over loose or stripped metal, and the printed card itself is a documentation artifact that cannot be reproduced. Assault weapon variants appear less frequently in circulation than the standard klaive-armed Incubi, adding a further layer of scarcity for collectors assembling a complete period Dark Eldar force.
Whether destined for a display cabinet, a nostalgia-driven Oldhammer project, or a 3rd Edition-era army build, this piece belongs to a category of Games Workshop product that will not be printed again.
