Description

Peyton Riley came to Gotham as an outsider — a woman drawn into the criminal underworld who eventually found herself working alongside the original Ventriloquist, Arnold Wesker, and his sinister puppet Scarface. After Wesker's death, Peyton took possession of Scarface and assumed the Ventriloquist identity for herself, becoming a gang leader in her own right. What makes Peyton truly unsettling is the ambiguity at the heart of her character — it is never entirely clear whether her shifting personality, alternating between femme fatale and ruthless killer, is the result of a genuine psychological disorder or whether Scarface himself exerts some malevolent influence over her.
